Corporate Overview

FibreChem Technologies (“FibreChem” or the “Group”) is a chemical fibre manufacturer in the Fujian Province of the People’s Republic of China (the “PRC”). The Group’s head office is located in Xiamen, the PRC where the Group is able to develop its global reach due to its superior geographical location. The Group’s initiatives materialised with the setting up of its plant in the Industrial Area of XiangBei, Xiang’An District. Today, FibreChem is the leading manufacturer of bi-component and specialised chemical fibres in the PRC. FibreChem is the PRC’s only producer of uniform sea-island short fibre, which it uses to produce its own uniform microfibre leather. This also makes FibreChem the only fully integrated manufacturer of uniform microfibre leather in the PRC.

Since its establishment in 1995, the Group has moved up the production value chain from producing normal polyester fibre and differential polyester products to bi-component fibre products. The Company places strong emphasis on research and development to develop new and innovative products to stay ahead of the industry. It has moved into premium fibre products that target niche market segments.

In 2006, FibreChem entered the synthetic leather space with the successful launch of its uniform microfibre leather. These higher margin products have a wide range of applications in the textile, sport shoes, upholstery, fashion and leather accessories industries. Embracing the increasing demand for customised raw material, the Group is constructing a differential polyester chip plant capable of producing 100,000 tonnes of differential polyester chips annually.

FibreChem is thus poised to leverage on its unique strengths and capabilities for growth in the domestic and international arena. FibreChem was listed on the Main Board of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited in April 2004.
